Information about Cabo Frio

Cabo Frio (Cold Cape) is a Brazilian municipality in Rio de Janeiro state, founded by the Portuguese on 1615.

Clear waters and white sands, are the hallmarks of Cabo Frio beaches. The hottest is the Forte beach, but if you're looking for good waves, you shall find on the beaches Dunas, Foguete, Peró and Conchas. Forte beach, in the city center, it is the most famous beach of Cabo Frio. The beach with transparent and crystal clear waters is one of the most beautiful in the state of Rio postcards. Its coastal length is 7.5 km, and the white sand a unique feature. On his left extreme is Fort St. Matthew, portuguese construction of the seventeenth century, and right, two other beaches limit: Dunas and Foguete.

Information about Casimiro de Abreu

     ... is a likeable place at the Sun Coast in the state of Rio de Janeiro, at the river mouth of São João. The town is located 180km north the famous city of Rio de Janeiro and Buzios between Rio das Ostras. Once, the location was importante for the transporto f coffe and wood from the mountains.

 

     The highlights are the São João Batista chapel, the museum “House of casimiro de Abreu”, the city park “As Primaveras”, the church “Sagrada Família”, the colonial houses and the avenue along the river and São João mountain, the beaches Prainha and Praião, nature reserves, and the music and cultural events.

 

     Beautiful beaches invite you...

The small Prainha beach is formed by sand dunes and situated next to the São João Batista chapel (1619). The beach bars offer typical local dishes. From the church hill hou have a magnificente view over the city, the sea, the river up to the mountais. In the evening you can see here the most beautiful sunset and the water reflections produce a great photo opportunity. The Prainha beach there is not high waves and so it is ideal for the children and whom like swim.

The Praião beach extends if more than 4 km, with a lovely promenade of palms with bars where you can find all to drink and eat, with live music, áreas sports and for children with plenty of space. In the evening have stalls candy, jewelry, clothing, crafts and more.

 

     On the banks of the São João river  – with the São João mountain in the background – is the historical parto  town with beautiful colonial buildings, lined with na avenue with more than hundred years old trees, Flamboyants full of red flowers in the summer time. In 1832 Charles Darwin visited Barra de São João city on a scientific expedition and today the city participates in the Project “Caminhos de Darwin”.
